Kurō Yata (八咫 九朗, Yata Kurou) is a supporting character of That Wolf-Boy Is Mine! manga. Kurō is the Yatagarasu, a legendary crow-god that symbolizes guidance.
History[]
Eleven years prior to the series, Kurō took in the then 5-year-old Yū Ōgami after Yū's mother had fallen ill and was unable to continue caring for him. Around that time, Kurō also became the mentor of Rin Fushimi and Aoshi Awaji. It is unknown at what point Senri Miyama came into the picture.
Personality[]
On the surface, Kurō comes off as a happy-go-lucky person (until it's time to study, that is). In reality, Kurō is a blunt, cunning, and secretive man who will go behind the backs of his pupils to protect them from anything that causes even a minor inconvenience, such as them befriending a human. He has a backwards way of deciding what situation justifies his involvement and has difficulty accepting that his pupils don't need him to take care of everything.
During Komugi's first interaction with Kurō, Aoshi described him as a "genuine, bona fide monster" and later on as "territorial" over his pupils, but Kurō responded by jokingly saying that he's just a senile old man. Despite this casual response, Komugi still felt rightfully uneasy around him. Kurō later inadvertently threatens Komugi to leave the boys, particularly Yū and Rin, alone.
Physical appearance[]
Kurō has dark hair parted in a left curtain cut and light eyes. In the past, Kurō is seen without glasses but he presently wears them every time he's seen. Kurō stands at an above average height with an average build.
